The VisionButler launched in Chicago at the 157th Midwinter meeting certainly will attract some deserved attention. Once seen, it’s hard to ignore this new concept. 

This can replace the single-use lip retractors and reduce the ongoing cost with an eco-friendly and comfortable alternative, reducing clinical waste in the dental clinic- the green answer to lip and cheek retractors

The VisionButler was conceived when we were asked if we could design a silicon contrastor. But why only solve one problem.

Could we design a solution to many problems with one solution. So we set out to create a design that would be: Reusable, autoclavable, eco-friendly and reduce clinical waste. Comfortable for the patient. Easy to place and remove.  It should also: Retract soft tissue of the lips and cheeks. and not “pop” out when the patient closes and provide hands free retraction for photography and digital imaging or clinical procedures.

After two years and several prototypes testing deigns and materials we have launched the first of three sizes.

VisionButler is a comfortable, flexible, autoclavable, reusable, satin black, medical grade silicon device that retracts the lips and the buccal tissues of the cheek. VisionButler replaces the single use alternatives that are sold in boxes of upto 80 , this will be far kinder to the pocket and significantly reduce clinical waste, appealing to the EcoFriendly and the cost conscious.

APPLICATIONS:

 Photo-contrastor: Made with a black, satin, smooth surface to reduce the flare and glare of flash photography, the soft silicon will hold the lips and cheeks away from the teeth and gums . The oval retraction of the labial tissues can be adjusted simply with manual tension and the gentle engagement of the fitting surface intra-orally allows the patient to close their mouth without the VisionButler being dislodged.


 Hygienist: VisionButler will allow the hygienist to work with the patient’s lips comfortably retracted and allowing easy access for the suction system of choice.

                                                   

 Whitening.: In office procedures require the protection of the lips and labial  soft tissues for the duration of the procedure.  VisionButler will hold  the mouth open and keep the lips away. 

Digital Imaging.:All digital imaging is simply made easier if soft tissues of the lips and cheeks are kept out the field of view

Restorative Dentistry: Preparation and cementation of composites, porcelain crowns / veneers requires control of the soft tissues of the lips and the cheeks. It is like having a spare set of hands.

Processing:The VisionButler can be placed in ultrasonic both, washer-disinfector  and pouched for autoclave in a standard self-seal pouch, a 3D Deep Pouch ( supplied by www.steriliu.com ).
